The core concept behind this 3.5 acre housing project was the unwavering belief that even a small isolated land parcel could be a legitimate microcosm of the city. Targeted at ‘global Indians’ with a high purchasing power, the project focuses on creating a substantial social domain within the building. The dwelling typology seamlessly combines the global as well as the traditional face of the ‘new, globalized Indian identity’. The total number of dwelling units provided add up to 237 with a density of 68 units per acre.
The dwellings are unabashedly modern and yet respect and retain traditional values of living traditional values of living, specific to the context. The “Living rooms” reach out to the city and the city in omnipresent in the dwellings. The dwellings thus integrate with the wider landscape and offer calculated spectacular views.
